Every employer wants to start working in Agile mode to get its various advantages. On they contrary, very few really works on building Agile teams. Not every team is an Agile team. Its very tricky when it comes to delivery :)

Some important aspects to keep in mind while building an Agile team are but not limited to:

Team Spirit

Every team member should have got the team spirit. If any team member is not willing to prefer working team then it’s a big question mark will they be part of an Agile team or not.

Win-Win Feeling

Make sure team members feel win-win situation. If they do not, then it would be very hard that they take interest in overall delivery of the product. They won’t be interested in what other developers are producing, they won’t be interested how to help producing efficient test scenarios and stuff. Its no magic to produce win-win situation, its really very very hard but at the same time very essential.

Team Collaboration

Observer that are your team members collaborate with each other frequently to provide a helping hand. Do they observe each other to criticize or to solve others problems. Criticism is good but within a certain limit as it may hinder someone else’s productivity and they stop being creative anymore. That’s why there should be more team collaboration and it should be controlled as well.

Feedback Loop

Environment should be like early feedback reaches every member. It would reduce the future iterations. Moreover, it would help more team communication that will improve team members professional relationship .

Adapt to Change

While selecting individuals, this criteria should be on top of the list. If a resource is not flexible, s/he won’t be able to part of an Agile team. Well, with the experience, I can rest assure you can’t change that behavior :)

This list can go on and on but to me above seems like essentials to work on while building Agile team, otherwise it becomes a mess.
